HOME/2009/ERFX/CA/1017 Supporting Open and Closed Reception Systems in Malta by Profiling, Action Research and Knowledge Transfer (SPARKLET)

From November 2010 to May 2012, IOM Malta implemented the project ‘Supporting Open and Closed Reception Systems in Malta by Profiling, Action Research and Knowledge Transfer (SPARKLET)’. With the general aim of facilitating migrant integration, under the project, information sessions, cultural orientation sessions, language courses, sports and recreational activities were organized in closed and open centres. Within the framework of SPARKLET, family tracing for unaccompanied minors was also piloted in Malta.

A total of 1217 migrants (among them, 844 Somali nationals) attended induction courses provided under SPARKLET.
